Faculty of Architecture and Design Quality Assurance Policy
The Faculty of Architecture and Design Quality Assurance Policy includes managing quality processes in line with the university's mission, vision and core values. Planning, implementation, monitoring and improvement-oriented activities are carried out with a holistic approach in achieving strategic goals. A participatory approach is adopted in decision-making processes. In the process, division of labour is made on the basis of justice and merit and commission work is carried out. Performance-based rewarding and incentives are essential. Activities are carried out with faculty members and stakeholders to create corporate culture and belonging. With the aim of digital transformation, organisational systems for the functioning of the faculty and education and work spaces are designed. Strengthened institutional resources are managed effectively and transparently. Leadership, participation and co-operation are adopted in the management approach. Management based on human rights, social values, academic freedom and ethical principles is exhibited. Strong collaborations are established between the faculty and stakeholders, and activities sensitive to society and the environment are carried out.
Education and training activities are given importance and necessary resources are allocated for qualified education. A student-oriented education model is adopted with a contemporary, sustainable and inclusive approach. Effective use of information and technology is encouraged on the basis of competence development. Education and training and sector requirements are brought together with projects orientated towards application and research. Entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity are emphasised in education and training, and students are encouraged to take initiative, group work and cooperation. Students are expected to develop their communication skills and social-cultural interactions as individuals who are aware of environmental and social issues with ethical values, not only their academic achievements. It is aimed to raise qualified students with environmental and social awareness and ethical values. Stakeholders with special needs are taken into account in education planning and equal opportunities are provided in education. Alternative models, digital technology and resources are used in learning and teaching processes, and training of trainers is emphasised in order to use pedagogical skills effectively. The use of online learning platforms and the development of digital learning materials are supported. Improvements are made to support programme accreditations for education in line with international standards and the feedback received from internal and external stakeholders with a quality-oriented approach is transferred to planning and implementation in educational processes.
Research activities are implemented in line with the strategic goals and objectives of the institution and are monitored based on performance indicators and improvements are made to achieve the goals. Original and innovative research is conducted in line with regional and national development goals, scientific, social and cultural priorities and the research agenda of the institution. Based on the research, determinations and solution proposals for social problems are shared with the public and research outputs are disseminated. National and international research funds are used effectively in the research process, and studies on development, planning and design are carried out in cooperation with the University-Public-Public-Industry-NGO. interaction with each other is encouraged. Specialisation and competitiveness within the departments and faculty are emphasised.
Policy development and project production for the economic, social, cultural and spatial development of the city, region and country are emphasised through research and activities. Academic studies and social activities are carried out in interaction with stakeholders in the city of Çanakkale and the region. Projects are carried out, panels, conferences and cultural activities are organised on topics such as the protection of historical, architectural, cultural and natural heritage, environment, sustainable, social and spatial development, development, technology and innovation. In social projects, activities that bring together internal and external stakeholders are organised on a voluntary basis. Activities that strengthen the visibility of the departments and the faculty are organised, and the participation of students and academicians in such national and international events is supported. Multiculturalism and internationalisation are encouraged in all activities within the faculty. Awareness-raising activities are carried out for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and the concept of sustainability is taken as a basis in all activities. Projects and studies involving environmental, economic and social principles of sustainability are carried out, interdisciplinary studies are encouraged. Projects are produced on the axis of sustainability on issues such as barrier-free campus, livable cities, quality of life.
